Little Brothers, Chicago

About the Client

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly Chicago is chapter of an international nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. They provide programming, trips, and continued learning opportunities for Chicago’s elderly community.

The Project

Little Brothers had an old website that was difficult for them to update, poorly organized, and they were particularly facing a problem with low volunteer registration. The process for becoming a volunteer is somewhat complicated by design, since it’s a large commitment, but nevertheless they needed to get more people in the door.

Since their focus changes often and they have different needs at different times of the year, it was hugely important to create a site that would be easy for them to update and flexible enough to change focus as needed.

We created a site in four primary (color-coded) sections: Donate, Programs, Volunteer, and Inside Our Chapter. Each section is fully customizable in terms of both content and layout so that they can update it as needed. They have a small team and a large program, so they don’t have a lot of time and resources to spend on the website, so we made one that is both flexible and long-lasting.
